Liverpool Ready To Fight Despite Injury Crisis, Claims Klopp Ahead Of Leicester City’s Visit

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has insisted his side are ready to endure this torrid time as many of the Reds’ players are on the treatment table.

The Premier League champions are currently battling their way through a bona fide injury crisis, with the international break aggravating Klopp’s side’s misery.

Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold were already out before the international break, while Joe Gomez suffered a serious knee injury, Jordan Henderson also picked up a knock on England duty and Mohamed Salah tested positive for coronavirus.

Despite Liverpool’s current doldrums, Klopp is adamant his side will weather the storm and fight.

"We just take it game by game,” the former Borussia Dortmund coach said in his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s game against high-flying Leicester City on Sunday.

"There's no season when you don't have injury problems.

"It is always the same, it's slightly different in that a lot of players in the same position have got injured and seriously injured, which makes it tricky.

"Nobody here feels self-pity or sorry for ourselves, it's just the situation. At the moment it hits you but the next moment you are in the solution process.

"We have players available and as long as we have 11 players we will fight for three points with all we have."

The German coach also insisted that the Foxes are capable of winning a trophy this season.

"Leicester showed last year how good they can be. they have changed style slightly maybe because of the injuries they have had.

"They are in a good moment and have a clear idea of how they want to play. they are contenders for everything."
